Situation

A laparoscopic surgeon based in South Kolkata approached me with a problem — despite having years of experience and a professional website, he wasn’t getting enough patient inquiries online. Most of his patients came through referrals or offline connections. The website barely appeared in search results, and there were no proper lead capture systems in place.

Challenges

Healthcare is a trust-driven field, and for someone offering minimally invasive surgeries, online presence and credibility are everything. But the surgeon’s website wasn’t ranking for any treatment-related keywords, had outdated content with medical jargon that patients didn’t understand had no blog, no local SEO setup, and no proper booking system

Task

My job was to build trust, improve online visibility, and ultimately drive quality patient leads through organic traffic and local SEO.

Action

  • Website Audit & SEO Fixes:

    local photos
    > Built citations across medical directories and local platforms
    > Created dedicated service pages targeting keywords like “laparoscopic hernia surgery in
    Kolkata”, “gallbladder removal expert South Kolkata”, etc.
  • Content Strategy for Trust & Ranking:
    > Created patient-friendly blog posts explaining common surgeries, recovery tips, and FAQs
    > Designed testimonial and case study pages with real patient stories and before-after journeys
    > Added multilingual content to reach Bengali-speaking patients more effectively
  • Lead Capture System:
    > Integrated WhatsApp chat, call buttons, and quick contact forms
    > Set up email automation for appointment confirmations and follow-ups

Result

As a result, within 5–6 Months:
✅ Website started ranking on 1st Page of Serp’s for 15+ treatment-related keywords in South Kolkata
✅ Organic traffic grew by 220%
✅ Monthly appointment inquiries went from 5 to 40+ via website and GMB
✅ Bounce rate dropped and time on site improved drastically
✅ The surgeon is now one of the top visible laparoscopic surgeon’s in his area online, with
consistently growing patient footfall
